Hi there! My name is Christine and I’m a self proclaimed home DIY addict along with my husband Mike. I want to show you that you can take on your own home DIY and decor projects to create a house you love without breaking the bank.
We are currently working on updating our 1989 colonial on a budget and I’m sharing all about how you can transform your house with paint and lots of elbow grease. We have painted our way through three houses so I love to share the power of paint and how it can transform your rooms, furniture and even decor items.
Furniture makeovers have always been a passion of Mike’s and we love finding thrifted pieces to paint or restain. We have really been flexing our furniture painting skills lately with experimenting with new paint brands and techniques.
Having cohesive home decor has always been a passion of ours whether we thrift it, DIY it or find a great deal online or our local store. I have been loving decorating our fireplace with the changing of the seasons
More about us…
We have been DIYing our way through three homes over the past 15 years together.
I bought my first house when I was only 19. Mike helped me to fix it up when we were in college and starting our careers so there was not much in the budget for home remodeling. We got by with tons of DIY trial and error plus lots and lots and lots of paint.
We moved on to a cute bungalow and continued refine our home DIY skills while customizing the house to our style with more painting and lots of hand me down and thrift store furniture refinishing. Once our son Lincoln came along we were ready for more space so we moved on. We listed our house and sold it in one day! I will contribute the quick sale partially to the fact that we made sure to refresh every space with fresh paint if it hadn’t been painted in a while. Painting for the win!
Now we are in our current 1989 super dated colonial. We bought it with the idea that we would be fixing it up ourselves and so far we have been working on painting all 2300 square feet and figuring out how to DIY as many updates as possible. While we work on turning dated to modern we are also adding touches of rustic farmhouse style. It has been quite the job and I’m excited to be able to share our journey with you.
