Hi there! My name is Christine and my husband is Mike.
We have been DIYing our way through three homes over the past 15 years together. I bought my first house when I was only 19 while in college. At my price point back then it needed a lot of work. It took 5 years but Mike and I turned that house into a great investment property for the next owner and sold that house in around 30 days on the market.
Our next home was a huge step up for us. We felt like the Jeffersons moving on to a non college town. We spent 9 years in a 1920s bungalow and made tweaks here and there to update the kitchen and color scheme. When we had our son we wanted to find more space. We sold that house to the first person that looked at it for more than we were asking for.
That leads us to our third and current house. We took on modernizing a 1989 colonial with a half acre lot in a suburban neighborhood. We are working through updating the color scheme and removing all traces of the late eightes. We are doing it all without breaking the budget. Finding inexpensive ways to customize our house is our number one goal. That is why we love DIY so much. It helps us to get the look we want without paying the price.
We may be big DIYers but also love spending time together as a family. Our son Lincoln is our greatest joy. Life with a rambunctious boy always keeps us on our toes.
Whether we are finding time to work on our latest house update, paint furniture, crochet, work in the garden or decorating we are always looking for a creative outlet.
