I have been loving my January winter mantel but since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner I decided to give it a fresh look. Since my mantel was pretty simple I had plenty of room to add in a few rustic Valentine’s Day touches and it all looks so festive. I’ve never done a Valentine’s Day mantel before so I had fun finding a few new items to add to create this look. I had to look high and low for some cute and not gaudy Valentine’s decor which was surprisingly difficult at the stores in my area.
I picked up the Love You to the Moon and Back sign and red heart with the arrow at Walmart. They were in the main Valentine’s Day aisle and were both pretty inexpensive. so I was pretty excited with this score since I was starting to think I wouldn’t find anything that fit my style anywhere.
I needed something else to fill in a large gap in the mantel so I created a fun Valentine’s Day bike art in Canva. I used an old frame I had and dry brushed it with a creamy white. Then printed out the picture and voila, fun Valentine’s art. I will share more details in an upcoming post.
The I Love Us sign was a gift Lincoln gave us for Christmas that he made it at preschool. It’s just so adorable. We had it up in a different spot but the saying and red heart make it the perfect addition to the rustic Valentine’s day mantel.
This vintage milk can used to belong to my grandma. I’m pretty sure it came from a garage sale. She was the ultimate garage sale queen and taught me everything I know. The milk can is a little beat up so Mike and I were brainstorming ideas to rework it but it works for now. The wood tray came from her too and I filled it with lots of faux succulents.
The pink flowers are recent find from Hobby Lobby and I got them 50% off. I had the pitcher already and it’s from JOANN. I’m still rocking the white hydrangeas from Christmas and I’ve got my greenery from the January mantel. If you need any greenery, Amazon has some options for boxwood balls and succulents. Also JOANN and Hobby Lobby have some other good options. The metal lanterns were a garage sale find and always seems to end up on the mantel no matter how we decorate it.
We had a warm weekend this past week and it was so welcome after below freezing temps for weeks. It has me thinking about my spring mantel next and I’m already working on ideas for what I will display after Valentine’s Day is over.
